Duncan Grapefruit Marmalade – 11 oz Small-Batch California Citrus Preserve
California Citrus Marmalade • Rare Heirloom Grapefruit • Tree-Ripened
For the marmalade purist, this is where the tasting journey begins: bold, lightly tannic, complex, and beautifully balanced between brightness and bitterness.
Our Duncan Grapefruit Marmalade is made from one of the oldest and most storied grapefruit varieties in America. Duncan grapefruit first arrived in the United States in the 1830s and became prized for its depth of flavor long before seedless citrus came to dominate the market. It was also grown in Redlands by Sarah Moore, who famously served grapefruit to President William McKinley during his 1901 visit to the city.
Because Duncan is a seeded grapefruit, many commercial groves disappeared during the seedless revolution of the 1950s. Today, it is sought after by grapefruit lovers for its classic flavor, aromatic peel, and old-fashioned marmalade character.
Tasting Notes: Smooth grapefruit, gentle tannin, bright citrus peel, and a surprising maraschino cherry finish.
How to Enjoy: Serve with toast, scones, strong black tea, sharp cheeses, charcuterie, roasted poultry, or as a glaze for savory dishes.
