Who we are
From California agriculture, not just inspired by it.
Old California Botanicals comes from Redlands, in the heart of Southern California's old Citrus Belt, where our family has grown and packed citrus for five generations.
Here, citrus once shaped everything: the groves and packing houses, the railroads and nurseries, the hotels and the crate labels. For us that history isn't abstract. It's working groves, the smell of orange blossom every spring, fruit ripening through the winter, and recipes handed down.
We started Old California Botanicals to keep that heritage useful. We grow and source California citrus and botanicals, some from fruit grown on our own account and some from generational farms we've known for decades, and turn them into marmalades, perfumes, lip balms, candles and gifts.
We treat citrus the way a winery treats grapes. Variety, soil, season and ripeness all show up in the jar, so each marmalade is made from a single variety, and we want you to taste the difference.

The family's farming roots in California reach back to the nineteenth century.

Minneolas in Redlands
Our family has grown Minneola tangelos in Redlands since the variety was developed in the 1930s, fruit long kept for family and close friends.

90 years
Our beekeepers
Our lip balms use beeswax from local beekeepers our family has known for four generations. Their bees have pollinated local orchards for nearly 90 years.

Old California Botanicals
We begin making marmalades, perfumes and botanicals from California crops, established in Redlands.

Recognized at home and abroad
Eight honors at the World Marmalade Awards at Dalemain in the United Kingdom, including Silver, Bronze and Merit awards, and 2026 Senate District 19 Small Business of the Year from the California State Senate.

The founder
A working agricultural enterprise.
Founder JP Beall is a State of California–licensed produce broker, grower and agricultural manager, and a seventh-generation Californian. He serves on the board of the County Farm Bureau and the California Farm Bureau's Committee on Fruit Trees.
Eight honors at the 2026 World Marmalade Awards, and 2026 Senate District 19 Small Business of the Year.
