John P. Beall, board member of the San Bernardino County Farm Bureau was added to the California State Farm Bureau’s Committee on Fruit Trees, a standing commodity committee of the organization for the purposes of monitoring state policy that impacts fruit tree agriculture in California.

The committee’s meeting was composed of seven from across the state in Sacramento to work with the State Farm Bureau’s policy staff.

Among the items discussed was the ongoing quarantine due to the Oriental fruit fly. Other committees met to discuss row crops, livestock, and other crops.

Beall, along with County Farm Bureau Vice President Scott Hudson, participated in lobbying efforts at the capitol on California Agriculture Day on March 19, an annual celebration recognizing California’s agricultural community by showcasing the state’s bounty of crops and commodities.
